Our Favorite Summer Activity

Can we say FISH!
Well, I have two of them in my family:)
This is Kasen, he has decided that he wants to be like Burke
and swim without his floaties...he is doing really well too!
Okay, so we all are fish!:)
Here is the pro! Burke is so good at swimming...
it comes so naturally for him, and the kid can tread(sp?)
water better than anyone I've ever seen!

We went to our friends pool and they have a diving board! Both boys were loving this...that is what they did most of the time. Burke even did a front flip of the diving board a couple of times! No fear! Here is Kasen jumping off...I was surprised that he liked it as much as he did! "I'm gonna do that again", that is what he kept saying:)
I am so glad that they aren't afraid of the water...Now when we get a boat, someday I will have one!:), they will be so much fun to have out there!

Fourth of July

What a fun filled day we had!
We started the day of with breakfast up in the canyon!
Thanks to Derek's brilliant idea we all headed up there to have some food!
yummy ...that is all I can say! I think we all had a good time!
Thanks everyone for coming!
I think we have started a new tradition :)
After we had breakfast we headed down to our house to have a dip in the pool!
Trina and Spencer and the kids came to join us...and we had the pool all to ourselves! It wasn't the most perfect day for a swim but it was still a lot of fun.

Off to the FIREWORKS!

This is the part Burke has been waiting for...

glow balls, light sticks and fireworks are his favorite part of the 4th!

It was a really enjoyable day!

Not too much rushing around...that was nice ...

I feel like that it all we have been doing for a few weeks now!

I hope you all had a great 4th of July:)

The all day Family Home Evening

Derek had the day off so we decided to do a bunch of fun things together! So we decided to call our day the all day FHE! We slept in and took our time getting ready for the day then we ran a to few stores...then the fun began. We took the kids to see the new movie Wall-E that they have been dying to see. It was a cute movie:) Then we headed over to Chucke Cheese's for our friends birthday party...the boys had a ball!

Then from Chucke Cheese's we went fishing!
We had gone on a quick fishing trip on Sunday and Kasen
caught his first fish! So we had to take the boys and go again!
No luck on this trip though...they had a really good time!

All in all a very fun day with some minimal grumpy spurts:)

That is to be expected though....right?!

Family Reunion

We made our annual trip up to Sundance for our family reunion at the Timp Lodge this past weekend. This is something my kids and husband really like to do. I however have moments of fun but the majority of the time I am a stress case and overwhelmed (still, after almost nine years) of how massive Derek's side of the family is. It is all a little much for me! Here are some of the fun things that we do up there:
The boys made rockets and got to launch them, Burke was in heaven with this activity!
The treasure hunt.
"this was the best treasure hunt ever!" Burke said

The hike up to Stewart falls. The boys were both very tired from the start of this hike, but they made it to the falls and thought it was very cool. Derek and I got an extra workout when they both wanted to have piggy rides all the way down...wow, I'm out of shape:)
The famous water slide... this is one of the funner things for me. The boys didn't really want much to do with it this year. I think that is because of the serious lack of sleep...can we say grumpy!
All in all we had fun...I just don't know how much longer we are going to be attending this reunion...I say time to start a Taylor reunion!!!!

New sunglasses

Burke got some new sunglasses and had to wear then all day!
He kept saying that he was Batman.
Then he wanted to watch his movie with them on,
then fell asleep:)

Another haircut for Kasen

Time for another haircut!
When we go swimming we were constantly
pushing his hair out of his face! Yes,it was that long,
it was deceiving because the curls are so tight!
bye, bye fro!
(for now)
